Cycling

Cycling is a great sport for improving your mood. Regular cyclists often talk about the “cycling uplift” as it pumps blood around your body at a greater rate which allows for the rapid spread of endorphins and other good substances like dopamine, norepinephrine and serotonin around the body.

Cycling promotes positive mental health, improves self esteem, helps with depression, helps to lower anxiety and lower your stress levels. The nature of cycling has been shown to be one of the most effective activities for the head and heart

It can also helps improve sleep

Regular riding helps synchronise your circadian rhythm and can help to reduce levels of stress hormones that can make proper regenerative, deep sleep difficult.

Improves creative thinking

The regular, uniform movement of cycling has a relaxing effect on the brain, stabilizing both physical and mental function.

Cycling promotes new thought patterns that promote feelings of calm and wellbeing

It can be a great way to “zone out,” almost like a form of meditation as you focus on movement, rthym and breathing.

Nic at Esteem Team is a very experienced cyclist and regularly participates in road, gravel, touring and mountain biking rides. He has a huge passion for the sport and is more than happy to lead rides, offer tips and coach those who are complete novices. Anyone who need a confident boost or may struggle with balance, Esteem Team have access to a fantastic Hase Pino tandem bike too.

This is a great experience for a child and young person.
