Over the last 19 years, I have taught in various Devon primary schools, taking on many different roles within these. I aim to be playful and fun as well as use a child led approach, flexible, adaptable, learning through play, and based around children’s interests; I have always found this to be my most effective approach in engaging children.

I have worked with many children with additional needs and those who struggle with their mental health. This has become my main focus over more recent years. Building trust and positive relationships is key and my approach is to ensure that children’s well-being is at the heart of everything I do, ensuring that every child feels heard.

I adore all animals and am a Blue Cross Foster Mum to rescued animals who need to be cared for whilst waiting to find their forever homes. I have a house rabbit called Rocky- he sleeps under my bed and can be quite grumpy! I also have a tortoise, Mione (short for Hermione), who is constantly trying to play with us!

I love anything creative but particularly enjoy crochet, macrame and cake decorating. In my free time, I'm mainly found spending time with my family walking on the beach or Woodbury common. My favourite thing to do is snuggling up together on the sofa with big blankets and twinkling fairy lights whilst watching films.

I am known for my love of rainbows, particularly by the children who I work with. I can always incorporate a rainbow in somewhere!
