Hi, my name is Liv (Olivia)  I am a qualified primary school teacher (QTS) who has 8 years experience teaching in both London and Devon. I have taught children from diverse backgrounds with an array of special educational needs which in turn has developed my adaptability and creativity as a practitioner. I have learnt building a relationship based on trust is key for neurodivergent and neurotypical children. Alongside my whole class teaching, I have run social skills groups, confidence building sessions, mindfulness clubs and environmental therapy activities.

I truly believe that the wellbeing of a person is the most important factor when it comes to life and learning. When teaching, I always make sure that the wellbeing and mental health of the young person is my number one priority. The importance of inclusion is also something I hold very dear to my heart. Having grown up with a LGBTQ+ sibling, I know the impact this can have on a child/young person firsthand and have kindness and empathy with the LGBTQ+ community.

Every child/young person is an individual and deserves the right to be listened to when it comes to how they learn. Esteem’s ability to offer bespoke mentoring and learning packages for young people is something I feel privileged to be a part of. I am passionate about creating positive environments which build self esteem and help develop resilience at a pace the child/young person feels comfortable with.

I live in Clyst St Mary with my husband and two young children . I’m happiest when outside exploring nature with my two children - whether it be on the beach or on the moors! I love animals, especially horses. Bertie, our family black lab, is often staying at our house when my parents come to visit. He is very good at warming up my cold feet! My favourite trip out would be to go to the theatre or to the cinema, I really enjoy immersing myself in the experience.
